Indonesian launch to take place in the July-August period.
Seen here is a speculative rendering of the Yamaha MT 25, the naked version of the Yamaha R25, which is reported to be unveiled in the July-August period this year in Indonesia. The motorcycle in question was spotted testing in Indonesia recently, and an official from PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) confirmed a market launch post Eid this year.
According to Indonesian media reports, Yamaha's engineers have altered the handlebar and seating positions of the MT 25 for a more upright stance. However, the MT 25 will borrow the twin-cylinder 250 cc engine from the R25, in which this unit makes 36 PS at 12,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm matched to a 6-speed transmission.
The MT 25 will trade the R25's aggressively-designed fairings for a street fighter look inspired by larger Yamaha motorcycles like the MT 07 and MT 09. It will be marketed as a long-distance tourer, one report claimed.

For the Indian market, Yamaha has not confirmed the launch of the R25 or even the larger R3. However, one of these motorcycles is expected to enter the market through the CBU or CKD route later in the year.
