Expected to be unveiled in July in Thailand.
Toyota is currently in the final stages of the next generation Fortuner's development, which is expected to make its debut in July 2015. The evidence of that can be seen in the latest spyshots that surfaced from Thailand, where Toyota manufactures the Fortuner (as CKD kits and fully built units).
The next generation Fortuner will feature a new design that would look significantly different from its pick-up brother, the 2016 Toyota Hilux. Recent spyshots (as well as our rendering) have revealed that the front fascia will be dominated by smaller and edgy headlamps, twin-slat chrome grille, and a bumper with large air intakes and fog lamp enclosures. The side profile is characterized by wider wheel arches, a new window line and sleeker C-pillar design.
The Toyota Fortuner will sit on an updated version of the ladder-frame IMV platform, which will also underpin the new Hilux Pickup and the next generation Innova MPV. The engine lineup is expected to feature more efficient diesel and petrol motors, paired to either a manual gearbox or an optional automatic unit. The Innova diesel will get an automatic option for the first time, a source earlier told IAB.

An Indian debut of the mid-size SUV could happen at the Auto Expo 2016 alongside the new Innova. It will follow the CKD route with kits assembled at the plant in Bidadi, Karnataka.
