The Ford Figo compact sedan, that reportedly is christened Figo 'Aspire', was photographed during test runs by Evo magazine.
To be made at Ford India's second manufacturing plant in Sanand, Gujarat, the plant comes on stream this month, and the Figo sedan will become the first product to roll out.
The car's design was screened with the unveiling of the Figo Sedan concept last year at the Auto Expo. It has retained the primary design of the concept, featuring the trademark trapezoidal grille. As per this report, the Aspire could come with Ford’s SYNC system and a device dock to mount and charge mobile phones, MP3 players and GPS systems, that will integrate with the in-car entertainment system, another feature that was on the concept.
As learned from sources, the Figo Aspire uses the new 1.2-liter TiVCT engine that will develop over 80 PS and a recalibrated 1.5-liter diesel, that's common to the Fiesta and EcoSport. Additionally, an automatic transmission option would be possible by using the 1.5-liter engine paired to the twin-clutch Powershift transmission, serving on Ford's C Segment cars.
Expect to hear more on the Figo Aspire in the weeks ahead.
