Expected to continue mechanically unchanged.

The Toyota Rush is heading for a mild facelift, as is the Rush's cousin, the Daihatsu Terios. While the Terios facelift revealed its redesigned front and rear fascias earlier this year, Autonetmagz has a few interesting images to share on the Rush facelift's interior.

The facelift would extend the Rush's life by 18-24 months, in which time, the next generation model would be ready.

The 2015 Rush gets a new 2-DIN slot for the music system, and the top-end TRD variant will be given a 6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Another change observed on the center console is a black finish for the AC vents.

A new steering wheel which seems sportier in design, new fonts for the instrument cluster and silver inserts for the door handles and gear selector are other changes Toyota has made.

The Rush is offered with a 5MT or a 4AT, but only with a 1.5L petrol engine.

To lend the cabin a fresh look, Toyota has opted for new seat fabrics, described in this image as 'sporty', while the rear headrests are of a different design. The rear seats are also given ISOFIX points for mounting child seats.

According to the Indonesian media, there will be no changes to the mechanicals of the 2015 Rush. A 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 107.5 bhp and 141.2 Nm of torque paired to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic is the powertrain of choice.

The current generation Rush was developed only to run on a gasoline engine. Hence, an Indian launch is out of question.

The Rush has been caught testing in India, though sources say that a rival carmaker is using it for benchmark purposes. The current generation Rush is unlikely to launch in India, but the next generation model, which will in all likelihood will be developed with diesel engine compatibility, would be an ideal candidate for Toyota Kirloskar Motor' EcoSport and Duster challenger.
