Skoda Polar compact crossover - Rendering

Expected to arrive in 2017.

As reported earlier, Skoda is planning to introduce a compact crossover below the Yeti. The compact crossover is expected to arrive in 2017 and could be called Skoda Polar, reports L'Automobile. The publication has also rendered the vehicle.

To be based on Volkswagen's MQB platform, the computer generated picture suggests that a clear resemblance to the Octavia Scout. Also, this B-segment crossover could benefit from the design elements of the VisionC concept, which has also inspired the upcoming Skoda Superb.

It's likely that the crossover will have a lot in common with VW's compact SUV destined for the same segment. A previous report suggests that Skoda will only offer a 2WD (front-wheel drive) version of the vehicle, while the engine choices is likely to be confined to small 3-cylinder petrol and diesel units.
