Gets a 9-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Exactly 25 years after the debut of the NSX, Honda/Acura took the wraps of the production version of the all-new Acura NSX (Honda NSX for Europe) at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show (2015 NAIAS).
The production version is clearly inspired by the concept, which also made an appearance at the Auto Expo last year. The sportscar measures 4,470 mm in length, 1,940 mm in width, 1,215 mm in height and 2,630 mm in wheelbase. Compared to the concept, these dimensions have slightly grown, Honda says.
The Japanese car maker is yet to announce the specifications or performance figures of the NSX. What we do know is that power comes from a mid-mounted, twin-turbocharged 75-degree DOHC V6 engine, with a three electric motor Sport Hybrid System, handled by a 9-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The front wheels are powered by electric motors, while the rear wheels are driven by the engine, and possible electric assistance.
Based on a spaceframe chassis, the NSX uses a carbon fiber floor, while its structure is made of aluminium and high-strength steel.
