Honda showcased the Accord Hybrid and the Acura NSX concept at the Auto Expo.
Honda Accord Hybrid
The next generation Accord Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired to an AC synchronous permanent magnet motor. Combined, the Accord Hybrid produces 196 hp. It is paired to an E-CVT gearbox. For off-the-line starts and mid-cruising speeds, the system uses only electric power. For accelerating, the hybrid drive is used and finally for high-speed cruising, the gasoline engine is used.
Acura NSX Concept
A successor to the legendary NSX, the next generation of the supercar is expected to be launched in 2015. Using a Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) system, the NSX will be powered by a mid-mounted V6 engine paired to an electric motor, and two other electric motors each located in a front wheel. A dual-clutch transmission has been confirmed for the supercar.
