Expected to launch by end-2015 in India.

The BMW-TVS partnership’s first effort comes in front of the camera for the first time. The bike is BMW’s first sub-500cc motorcycle that the manufacturer is readying for developing markets like India and other South East Asian countries.

BMW TVS tieup
The tie-up, announced in April 2013, will bring a sub-500 cc motorcycle to the market first.

The motorcycle, codenamed ‘K03’ was spotted testing in Germany, and clearly shows a liquid-cooled engine. The unit is believed to be displacing 300 cc in either single or twin-cylinder configurations.

The ‘K03’ will debut this year, if the project is on schedule.

The test mule photographed shows a singe projector headlight that is mounded on top of a pair of upside down forks that hold a large single disc brake at the front. There seems to be a tank cover that features plastic extensions on either sides and has a small exhaust that exits on the right side of the machine.

When the partnership was announced, the companies said the first motorcycle would roll out in 2015, and would be manufactured at either the TVS plant in Hosur or Mysore.
