The SUV is expected to be unveiled in April.
While the new Hyundai ix35's interior and taillamps were partially unveiled in a recent set of spyshots, here comes another set of pictures of the car hidden under camouflage, from China.
Published by Auto Home, the pictures show the front and side profile of the upcoming ix35 (or Tucson as it's called in some markets) crossover. It features the Fluidic Sculpture v2.0 design philosophy, and is said to be more angular than before. On the inside, the vehicle is expected to get better fit and finish than the outgoing version.
The next generation ix35 will benefit from the use of high strength steel, like on the larger Santa Fe. Under the bonnet will be a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The latter, developed by Hyundai, was showcased at the Paris Motor Show last year and has found its way on the Accent (Verna) in the domestic market in Korea. The report says that other engines in the lineup will be a 2-litre and a 2.4-litre unit.

Earlier this month, Hyundai was reported to have planned the unveiling of the new ix35 in April this year. Alongside the crossover, the new Hyundai Elantra (Avante in certain markets) is also expected to be revealed.
Hyundai India's energies would be focused on introducing the smaller ix25 this year, and hence the ix35 is not expected anytime soon.
