Global CEO Mark Fields expected to inaugurate new Gujarat plant.
Ford India has three major launches lined up for this year which include the new Figo hatchback, a compact sedan based on the new Figo and the new Endeavour SUV. Among these, the compact sedan is expected to launch first around July, while the hatchback will come in September, reveals a report on the Business Standard.
Both these cars will roll out of the new Sanand plant in Gujarat. By the end of the first quarter of 2015, this plant is expected to be in operation with Ford Motor Company's global CEO, Mark Fields, expected to inaugurate it.
The new Figo and Figo sedan will be powered by petrol and diesel engines, the latter being the 1.5-liter TDCi unit found on the EcoSport and new Fiesta. Sources say that the Figo hatchback will be offered with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine (basically the EcoBoost unit without the turbocharger).
On its premium front, the new Endeavour is expected to arrive in India in December this year. The SUV will be assembled at Ford India's Chennai plant by way of CKD kits shipped from Thailand. Ford took the wraps off the new Endeavour in November last year, just shortly before the Guangzhou Auto Show.

The company announced a 2.0-liter petrol, 2.2-liter diesel and a 3.2-liter diesel for the SUV for global markets. For India, expect the Endeavour to come with any one, or both, of the diesel engines.
