Production constraints could be a delay for the launch.

A new report on the Economic Times states that the Honda Jazz will launch in India in July 2015, indicating that Honda has deferred its earlier plans of launching the premium hatchback this financial year.

The new Jazz was supposed to launch this financial year.

An earlier report indicated that the Jazz's Indian launch could be delayed as Honda's production facilities in Greater Noida and Tapukara were running on full capacity to make enough numbers of the newly-launched Mobilio and City. Honda even shifted production of the City from Greater Noida to Tapukara. The earlier report indicated that the company may want to reduce waiting period of existing cars, before launching a new product.

Showcased at the Auto Expo this year, the new Jazz will launch in India with a petrol and a diesel engine. The hatchback will borrow its engines from the Amaze, and hence the petrol unit will be the 1.2-liter i-VTEC while the diesel will be the 1.5-liter i-DTEC. On the Amaze, the petrol engine makes 88 PS and 109 Nm, while the diesel delivers 100 PS and 200 Nm.
