Minor design and feature changes for Maruti's popular MPV next year.
One of Maruti's 8 new launches for 2015 is a facelift for its MPV, the Ertiga. Prototypes of the Maruti Ertiga facelift have already been spotted testing sporting just minor exterior changes. Our artist, Shoeb, has created a digital mockup of the Ertiga facelift based on these spyshots.
Like the oncoming Dzire facelift, the Ertiga too will get a new chrome grille, in this case a dual-slat one. The airdam would also see a minor design change, but this pretty much sums up the changes up front.
New alloy wheel patterns and new body color(s) would mark other changes to the exterior of the MPV. As mentioned earlier, Maruti doesn't want to drastically change the formula of the Ertiga, as it has been very well received and continues to post strong sales numbers despite having new rivals like the Mobilio and Enjoy. Maruti sells about 5,110 units of the car per month.
The 1.4-liter K-Series petrol engine and the 1.3-liter DDiS diesel motor could see a mild retune to increase their fuel efficiency. Also, reports suggest that the petrol engine would get an additional gearbox option which would be a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).
