The deal has a validity of four years.

World’s No.1 two wheeler manufacturer by volume, Hero Motocorp, has announced golfing legend Tiger Woods as its global brand ambassador. The signed deal which is pegged at around INR 250 crore would encompass Tiger Woods to be associated with Hero Motocorp for the next four years. The deal also marks as the most expensive celebrity endorsement yet done by any Indian company.

As a move to strengthen Hero MotoCorp’s global identity and promote the their core values on an international level, the company has lined-up a series of campaigns with Woods that would run over multiple platforms, print, electronic, digital, social and outdoors.

This move aligns with Hero’s global expansion plans as the company looks to setup new manufacturing units in Brazil and Argentina. Hero also recently started construction of a plant in Colombia and are already present globally across Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Turkey, Egypt, Peru, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Congo and Angola.

Speaking about his association, the golfing champion said:

This association with Hero MotoCorp is exciting and it allows me to be involved with the world of two-wheelers and the vision of Pawan and Hero MotoCorp. We have a shared vision and I am proud to be working with the entire Hero family.

This is not Hero’s first collaboration with the avid Golfer, as in September this year, they announced a separate four-year deal with the Tiger Woods Foundation to become the title sponsors of the Hero World Challenge, a PGA Tour event.

250 Cr for a person with no morals and on the last leg as far as golf is concerned? They could have spent this on the development of 1000 to 1200 cc engine which they desperately need. His popularity in US is very much questionable with respect to brand endorsement. Hope it works for Hero, as it is the last hope for Indians to own a large displacement bike at the cost of an entry level small car.

Munjal has been very cunning businessman in India lets see how good he is outside, with their pale portfolio and a failed golfer I think Munjal will have first-world problems in his hands.
