Powered by an inline six diesel engine.
BMW's appearance at the ongoing Thailand International Motor Expo isn't limited to the BMW i8 sports car. While not as revolutionary as the i8, but still the one of a kind 2015 BMW X6 was present there, too. In the M Sport version, the X6 is decked with 20-inch wheels, a lot of 'M' goodies for the interior, and adaptive M suspension system.
The show car, in the xDrive30d guise, is powered by a twin-turbo, inline six diesel engine that makes 218 bhp of maximum power. It is linked to an all-wheel drive system, while an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox takes care of the transmission duties.
The second generation, the X6 continues on the same virtues as the original X6 but offers a new yet familiar design, and will replace the current X6 when it reaches India. Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show this year, the new version (codenamed F16) shares the platform with the new X5, is lighter - thus bound to consume less fuel and offer better dynamics - in comparison to the previous version.
The more focussed (and powerful) version of the X6 premiered at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Given the recent increase in the market's inclination towards performance SUVs, it won't be wrong to expect the X6 M to head to the Indian market, too. Powered by the same 4.4-litre BiTurbo V8 engine as the M5, the X6 M gets a maximum power of 575 bhp and a maximum torque figure of 750 Nm.
