Nissan premiered a new mini SUV concept at the 2014 Sao Paulo Motor Show by the way of the Kicks concept. The Kicks previews the design for a future compact SUV which could launch in Brazil in 2016. Seen here is a rendering from X-Tomi which shows a showroom version of the car.

The Nissan Kicks measures 4.3 meters in length.

The Kicks sports a butch look thanks to its well proportioned design elements. The front fascia sees the signature Nissan V-shaped grille, while the contrast roof of the SUV can be likened to the Renault Captur. The rear of the concept (seen in the image below) takes inspiration from the new Qashqai and the floating roof effect is similar to the one seen on the new Murano.

Nissan say that the concept was a design collaboration between Nissan Design America (NDA) in San Diego, United States, and Nissan Design America Rio (NDA-R).

The rear borrows its design from the larger Qashqai compact SUV.

Measuring 4,300 mm long, 1,800 mm wide and 1,600 mm tall, the Kicks has similar dimensions to that of the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross which launches in India early next year. Nissan could explore the possibility of a second compact SUV in India, as alliance partner, Renault, has hinted that it would launch another product in the compact SUV space.
