To be launched next year.
Adding gravity to an earlier media report that a new Bajaj Platina 100 is in the works, a camouflaged test mule of the commuter has been spotted for the first time. The prototype was seen testing alongside the existing Platina 100.
Despite the camouflage, it can be observed that the new model is not very different from the current Platina in terms of design, although subtle design tweaks to the panels, graphics and color themes are expected.
On closer inspection, a new silencer canister can be found, signalling a revised powertrain. The current 99.27 cc air-cooled engine produces 8.2 PS (bhp) at 7,500 rpm and 8.05 Nm of torque at a surprisingly low 4,500 rpm. The engine is matched to a 4-speed gearbox.
From the spyshots, it can be seen that the new Platina 100 continues to be equipped with a telescopic fork upfront, SNS (Spring-in-Spring) rear shock absorbers, alloy wheels and drum brakes.

Bajaj has products like the Pulsar 200 SS and Pulsar 150 NS in their advanced stages of testing. It is expected that the Pulsars will be launched in the coming months followed by the new Platina 100 in the later part of 2015.
