Looks ready for a 2015 launch.
The Maruti Suzuki YRA premium hatchback has been fully revealed in the latest spyshots from Raid101. The unsuspecting hatchbacks were caught undisguised at an undisclosed airport.
The YRA is clearly a size larger than the Swift with an aim of taking the fight towards the Hyundai Elite i20. The new hatchback borrows its peeled back headlamps from the Swift but the rest of the design elements are new. The front fascia features a 'V' shaped grille with chrome underlining and vertical LED daytime running lights housed within the secondary airdam.
In profile, the new Suzuki sports a gradually ascending waistline, large wheels, clean sheet metal surfaces and chrome door handles and a tapering rear windshield. The conservative rear fascia gets a chrome strip below the windscreen (likely to be reserved for higher variants), LED combination lights and a bumper-mounted license plate enclosure.
The interior, as revealed by previous spyshots, adopts a fresh design and is richly equipped. While the Swift's rear seats are cramped, expect the YRA to be high on interior room.
The Maruti YRA is reported to debut Suzuki's new 1.0-litre turbo petrol motor while the 1.3-litre DDiS is likely to be the diesel engine of choice.
