Launch expected in the second half of 2015.
Seen here are more images of the Maruti YRA (codename) premium hatchback which is reported to go on sale in India in the second half of 2015. The YRA will be a global model from Suzuki, and road tests in Europe and India (within Maruti's facilities) have already started.
The YRA's front gets Swift-like headlights, and a sort of V-shape design for the grille. The rear sees a notchback-like bootlid, and the overall design (placement of the taillights towards the corners and the relatively low roof) portrays the YRA as a wide car.
The car here is a left-hand drive model, hinting that it has been imported possibly from Europe (where the YRA first started testing) for R&D purposes. The white-on-blue instrument cluster gets a central multi-information display, and the tachometer identifies this prototype as a petrol model.
Inside, the dashboard is dominated by a large central screen (possibly a touchscreen unit) surrounded by AC vents which get a silver finish. Located below the screen are controls for the automatic climate control system and hazard lights.
Space wise, the YRA is expected to be larger than the Swift and could also break the 4 meter length, which is a further indication that it would be larger than the Hyundai Elite i20, its main competitor.

The YRA is expected to be powered by petrol and diesel engines, though reports indicate that the petrol engine in the car will be Suzuki's new turbocharged unit displacing about 1.0-liter.
