Shares plenty of parts with cheaper Marutis.
Seen here is the interior of the Maruti SX4 S-Cross, which is reported to launch in the country in early 2015. The S-Cross spotted here is a diesel model (identified by the tachometer which reads only till about 6,000 rpm), and is equipped with a manual transmission.
The interior of the crossover sports a black theme with silver detailing, and there seems to be plenty of parts sharing with cheaper models like the Swift and Ciaz (the S-Cross is expected to be priced more than the Ciaz). The power window switches, door handles, door locks, steering wheel and indicator stalks are lifted from smaller Marutis.
The car spotted here is not the top-end variant as it doesn't sport an engine starter button (even the Swift offers this feature now). Given the price and positioning of the car (about INR 10 lakhs), Maruti is sure to equip the S-Cross with this feature apart from automatic climate control, power folding wing mirrors, a touchscreen infotainment system, alloy wheels and not to mention at least dual airbags and ABS.

The S-Cross will be powered by a petrol and diesel engine, though the powertrains for the Indian model are unannounced. In Europe, the car gets 1.6-liter units for both fuel types, with the diesel engine being borrowed from Fiat.
Competitors: Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Mahindra Scorpio, Ford EcoSport, Hyundai ix25
Expected Price: INR 8-11 lakhs, ex-Showroom
Launch Date: Early 2015
