Will lock horns with the locally made Yamaha YZF-R25.
The KTM RC390 has been showcased for the first time in Indonesia as a build up for the launch which is expected in early 2015.
Aimed squarely at the immensely popular Yamaha YZF-R25, the India-made supersports bike has got the design flair, equipment and performance to draw attention.
The RC390 is powered by a 373 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, delivering 43.5 PS (42.9 bhp) at 9,000 rpm and 35 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. To be fair, rather than the R25, the new Yamaha R3 which is also expected to be produced in Indonesia will be the apt rival to the RC390 (assuming that the R3 will be sold in the country).
The fully faired KTM RC390 is high on equipment with a WP suspension system, Bosch ABS, multi-function digital dashboard, Metzeler tyres, projector headlamps and so on
