Weighs 50 kg less compared to the outgoing model.
The new 2015 Mercedes C Class was unveiled in Bangalore, at the CeBIT IT and ICT exhibition which started yesterday. Mercedes-Benz India announced that the new C Class will have its market launch on November 25.
Speaking about the new sedan, Eberhard Kern, managing director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, said that the car weighs 50 kg less as compared to the previous generation model. Mercedes-Benz Research & Development India Pvt Ltd (MBRDI) contributed significantly to achieve the lower weight, he said.
For the Indian model, certain changes in the navigation system of the car were also developed by MBRDI. The sedan is equipped with Mercedes's new age 8.4-inch infotainment system which sees a touchpad-based controller operated by one's fingertip.

Initially, Mercedes will sell the C Class as a CBU (Completely Built-up Unit) and only with a petrol engine. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged motor produces 181 bhp and 300 Nm of torque, and comes paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The fuel efficiency is rated at 14.74 km/l.
