Both cars will be imported as CBUs.
BMW India confirmed today that it will launch two products from its high-performance M division on November 26. The cars in question are the new BMW M3 sedan and the M4 Coupe, which world premiered at the beginning of this year.
Essentially, the M4 is a replacement for the M3 Coupe/Convertible, and is based on the same platform as the M3.
Both cars are powered by a newly-developed 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder gasoline engine which is capable of producing 431 bhp between 5,500-7,300 rpm, and 550 Nm of torque between 1,850-5,500 rpm. The drive is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
BMW claims a sub-5 second time for 0-100 km/h for both cars, and an electronically limited top-speed of 250 km/h.
The new M3 is 80 kg lighter compared to the older model thanks to the use of magnesium and carbon-fiber parts and high-tensile materials in its structure.
The light weight has not only helped in performance, but also in efficiency. Even though the new M3 and M4 produce 40 percent more torque, they are claimed to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 25 percent, compared to their predecessors.
