Minor cosmetic changes for Mitsubishi's lone model in India.
Mitsubishi will launch the Pajero Sport automatic in India on November 15, Indian Autos Blog was told by sources. The Pajero Sport AT will be exclusively sold with a 2WD layout, and its on-road price in South India will be about INR 31 lakhs. Mitsubishi will also introduce the refreshed Pajero Sport available in international markets.
The updated SUV has started arriving at dealerships ahead of its launch which will also take place on November 15. Changes in the facelifted Pajero Sport are focused on the front. An all-new chrome grille and a tweaked bumper with new foglight enclosures give it a fresher look.
There are no other changes to the car, and even the interior carries on as it is. Mitsubishi will delete two colors from the range though (a source confirms that the Storm Grey shade will not be offered).
The SUV is powered by the same 2.5-liter 16-valve intercooled turbocharged DOHC engine with power and torque outputs of 178 PS (175.49 bhp) at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 2,000–2,500 rpm.
Mitsubishi will offer the refreshed Pajero Sport with two gearbox options, a 5-speed manual and automatic. Expect fuel efficiency of the automatic to take a dip as the 5-speed unit is not a modern DSG, but a torque-converter gearbox. The Pajero Sport manual delivers 12.1 km/l.
