Slated to go on sale in Sri Lanka later this year.
The new Hero Karizma R and Hero Xtreme Sport made their Sri Lankan debuts at the 2014 Colombo Motor Show. The bikes will be sold through Abans Auto Pvt. Ltd., Hero's authorized distributor for Sri Lanka.
New Hero Karizma R
The latest iteration of the Hero Karizma R which was launched in home market India earlier this year has been showcased to the Sri Lankans ahead of its launch before the end of 2014.
The restyled bike gets a slimmer front fairing with vertically stacked dual-headlight, new handlebar, split seat, minimalistic taillight, thicker tyres and new silencer.
The semi-faired sports bike draws power from the same 223 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine which now produces 19.2 PS (18.93 bhp) and 18.35 Nm of torque. The carbureted motor is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The Karizma ZMR with a fuel-injected version of the motor could also be on the cards for Sri Lanka.
Hero Xtreme Sports
The sportier variant of the 150 cc Xtreme motorcycle is also slated to commence sales later this year. Targeting younger audience, the Sports variant can be identified by the new headlamp assembly and the revised fuel tank.
The power and torque outputs from the 149.2 cc air-cooled engine now stand at 15.2 PS (14.99 bhp) and 12.8 Nm respectively. The transmission is a 5-speed unit.
In addition to the standard front disc, the bike also gets optional rear disc.
