Previews Tata's Ford EcoSport rival.
Tata Motors has displayed the concept Nexon mini SUV at the ongoing 2014 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS 2014). The Nexon, which had its world premiere at the Auto Expo this year, previews the company's first ever mini SUV which is slated to launch within 17 months.
Powering the Nexon concept is a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine capable of producing 110 PS (108.45 bhp) and 170 Nm of torque.
A 5-speed automatic transmission transmits the drive to all wheels via an electric 4WD system. Tata claims the Nexon will achieve 17.6 km/l.
The concept car is 4,000 mm long, 1,730 mm wide, 1,600 mm tall and has a wheelbase spanning 2,540 mm. It is based on the Indica Vista's X1 platform. Riding on 17-inch wheels, the Nexon can achieve a top-speed of 180 km/h, says Tata.
Other features seen on the car include LED headlights, a floating center console and a full width instrument panel display.
