Launches early next year.
Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. J. Senthil Kumar, snapped the Renault Lodgy MPV while it was testing in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. While the vehicle is camouflaged, the grille element of the Lodgy seems different compared to the Renault-badged model sold overseas. A chrome-rich grille could be seen exclusive to the Indian model as one of the region-specific design touches.
A small glimpse at the interior reveals beige dashboard inserts, circular AC vents and chrome-ringed dials, similar to what is seen on the Renault Duster. In fact, the Lodgy is based on the platform of the Duster, and will be competitively localized in India.

Powering the people mover will be the famous 1.5-liter four-cylinder K9K diesel engine, which is also seen on the Evalia (one of the Lodgy's many competitors) apart from many Renault and Nissan models. If introduced in the 85 PS (83.83 bhp) power state, the engine will likely be paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
