Company wants to double market share in 2 years.
Speaking to the Economic Times newspaper, Renault India's CEO and Managing Director, Mr. Sumit Sawhney, said that the company is "ready with the next car". Renault India's next launch would be the Lodgy MPV, as Indian Autos Blog has previously reported.
Taking on the likes of the Innova, Ertiga and the Mobilio, the Lodgy will launch in 2015, most likely in the early part of the year. Like the Duster, the Lodgy is expected to bring Renault India the much needed sales volumes, as other volume oriented products like the Pulse and Scala are struggling to find buyers.
And much like the Duster, the Lodgy is expected to launch with the time proven 1.5-liter K9K four-cylinder diesel engine which is capable of producing 85 PS (83.3 bhp) and 110 PS (107.8 bhp), and is available with 5-speed manual and 6-speed manual gearboxes respectively. The company has already started testing the MPV in India.
