Spied – New Mahindra Scorpio fully revealed ahead of September 25 launch

Posted on: Sep 20, 2014 - 8:38am IST

Second major intervention for the SUV since its launch.

Here are the first images revealing the new Mahindra Scorpio sans camouflage, courtesy of Team BHP.

The front fascia of the SUV is redone with rectangular headlight elements with integrated LED daytime running lights and projector beams. Designers have retained the vertical grille arrangement of the car and the bonnet is redesigned to house a less pronounced hood scoop. On top-end variants, the grille will get chrome elements.

New Mahindra Scorpio revealed front
The Scorpio comes with LED daytime running lights and projector lights for the first time. The projector lights are not seen on this variant.

Over to the rear, the new Scorpio does not boast any drastic changes. Grab handles have been provided above the taillights for easier ingress. The taillight elements are new and feature LEDs, and the tailgate sees a redesign for the windscreen. A black plastic applique, which seems a bit unnecessary, is on the tailgate carrying a silver enclosure for the registration plate.

An interior image reveals a new center console with a large touchscreen music system, automatic climate control and revised plastic and colors for the dashboard.

The rear sees minor design changes and the inclusion of grab handles.

OMG! What the hell mahindra designers were thinking while designing this vehicle. Looks so horrible, specially the rear part. No doubt that Mahindra will have to come out with an all new model very soon enough. This model will not attract many buyers. The old Scorpio looked way much better than this. Totally disappointed. Scorpio was the perfect SUV in terms of looks, performance & price ratio. As a Scorpio fan really sad that Mahindra just ruined a classic SUV brand.

This doesn’t look very professional mahindra. I have seen better modified scopios. Don’t think everyone gonna like this. Once again Mahindra disappoints.
