The Gujarat plant will be operational by the third quarter of 2015.
Hero Motocorp's Vice-chairman and Managing Director Mr. Pawan Munjal, has revealed to ET Auto that the company has lined up a dozen products to create a buzz during the festive season.
Most of the festive season launches would be upgrades and variant extensions of the existing models like the Hero Passion Pro TR and Splendor Pro Classic. With an upgraded portfolio, Hero Motocorp is aiming to sell 6 lakh units in the 40 days of the festive season with the sales peak expected around Diwali next month.
Mr. Munjal hinted at an imminent price revision, stating that the company has been absorbing the rise in input costs for 12-18 months. He added, without divulging details, that Hero Motocorp will launch two new motorcycles and a scooter in early 2015. The scooter in question could to be the Dash which was unveiled this year.

Hero's Gujarat plant would be operational by Q3 2015. The two-wheeler maker is also in the process of expanding its overseas manufacturing footprint. Facilities in Colombia and Bangladesh are expected to be up and running in 2015-16 while talks for a setting up a manufacturing tie-up in Argentina are in advanced stages. The firm is also testing the Brazilian market.
