Rivaling other high performance SUVs like the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S and the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG, the Range Rover Sport SVR is the first product to be developed under the recently established Special Operations division that is similar in some functions to BMW's M division and Mercedes-Benz's AMG.

The Range Rover Sport SVR is the first Land Rover by JLR's Special Operations division.

The Range Rover Sport SVR features an aggressive exterior body kit that includes a quad exhaust system and 21-inch wheels to complement its sporty characteristics. Inside, Land Rover hasn't compromised on the luxury standards of a Range Rover in the quest for better performance figures; it will feature two-tone leather sport seats at the front and rear with SVR badging and reflective piping.

Under the hood, the SVR comes with certain performance oriented upgrades over the top-end 510 PS (502.8 bhp) supercharged variant: output of the 5.0-liter V8 Supercharged engine is increased to 550 PS (542.2 bhp) and 680 Nm, and is mated to the same 8-speed ZF gearbox but with revised shifting times. Thanks to the immense power, the Sport SVR can sprint from 0-100 km/h in a sports-car rivaling 4.7-seconds and, with the foot on the floor, reaches a limited track top speed of 259.2km/h.
