The Celerio was launched in India at the Auto Expo earlier this year. The hatchback introduced the concept of automated manual transmission (AMT) in the Indian passenger vehicles segment, and in fact, the AMT variants of the Celerio command a waiting period spanning nearly six months.

A successor to the A-Star, the Celerio is powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder K-Series engine producing 68 PS (67.04 bhp) and 90 Nm of torque, matched to a 5-speed manual or automated manual transmission. The AMT however, is available only on the base LXi and VXi variants.

The top-end ZXi trim of the Celerio is equipped with features like foglights, alloy wheels, ABS, dual airbags, a 2-DIN music system and a rear wiper/washer. Maruti have sold over 39,000 units of the Celerio since its launch.
