Redesigned exterior and interior along with suspension improvements said to be in the offing.
An Economic Times report states that Mahindra will finally launch the Scorpio facelift in the festive season month of October this year. This is in sync with an earlier report from Indian Autos Blog that the company was indeed planning a festive season launch for its popular SUV.
Design changes on the outside come in the form of new headlights with projector elements, a new grille, bumpers and LED taillights. A revision to the alloy wheel design and body graphics are also expected. However, the talking point of the Scorpio facelift will be its interior, as these spy images have shown. The dashboard, instrument cluster, center console, AC vents and front power window switches are of a new design, while the steering wheel is borrowed from the more expensive XUV500.
Underneath, the Scorpio is expected to get a better suspension system for an improved road holding capability. A tweaked NVH package with more sound deadening is also on the anvil. However, no changes are expected to the 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine.
Competitors: Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Tata Safari Storme
