Lexus held the Russian premiere of its first ever compact SUV, the Lexus NX, at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show (Moscow International Auto Salon 2014) today. The production spec car was world premiered earlier this year at the Beijing Motor Show taking design inspiration from the LF-NX concept.
The NX at the show is the hybrid model called NX 300h. It is powered by a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine which produces 197 PS (194.22 bhp). A traditional gasoline model (NX 200t) is also available which sources power from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 235 bhp and 349 Nm of torque.
The NX entered production earlier this month at the company's Miyata plant in Japan. The Toyota-owned luxury marque said that it had already received over 6,500 pre-launch orders in Japan alone. Sales in the United States are slated to start in the coming weeks.
The NX has its dimensions set at 4,630 mm length, 1,844 mm width and 1,645 mm height, with a wheelbase of 2,659 mm. It competes with the likes of the BMW X3, Mercedes GLK Class and the Audi Q5.
