Our friends at Autonetmagz are back with another rendering of the next generation 2016 Toyota Innova. While their earlier rendering was merely a sketch, this shows a production car with the design highlights seen on the sketch.
The front of the new Innova is characterized by a large chrome grille and flared headlights which appear a lot sharper compared to that of today's model. The rake of the windscreen, and the overall size of the doors and windows are a lot similar to the current Innova though. Its only past the C-Pillar that the new Innova sports an extended length and larger windows, indicating that space inside (for third row occupants and boot volume) would increase.
Based on an all-new ladder frame setup, the popular people-mover is set to get power from Toyota's new range of engines. Sources have indicated that the diesel variant could be paired to an automatic transmission to increase the user-friendliness of the car.
The second generation Innova is expected to launch in India sometime in 2016, though it could be introduced in key Asian markets (like Indonesia) by the end of next year. The Innova in India is made at the company's Bidadi facility in Karnataka.
