Second generation of the popular SUV to launch next year.
Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Manoj C of MyCopie, spotted the next generation Mahindra Bolero on test in Chennai recently. Codenamed Mahindra U301, the successor to the long serving utility vehicle is reported to launch sometime next year.
Based on an all-new hydro-formed ladder frame chassis, the U301, would have its design redone completely. Designers are likely to use the flagship XUV500 for inspiration, especially in areas surrounding the grille.
The Bolero maybe long in the tooth, but its sales figures show no sign of waning. Mahindra has sold over 650,000 units of the SUV since its launch in 2000, and the company has been selling over 100,000 units per year in 2011, 2012 and 2013. The new model certainly has its work cut out then when it comes to maintaining reputation.
