The new Kia Sorento will go on sale next year.
The 2015 Kia Sorento has made its online debut in three photos ahead of its public launch at the Paris Motor Show in October.
The third gen Sorento breaks away from the mould of cousin Santa Fe to have an identity of its own. The 'tiger shark' grille gets Mercedes A Class style diamond pins and the peeled back headlamps sport bi-xenon elements. The bumper is composed of a secondary airdam finished in glossy black and chrome outlined foglamp enclosures. A silver skid plate nestled in the black plastic cladding sum up the front fascia.
Coming to the side, the new gen crossover gets longer greenhouse and a higher waistline. The monotony of the sheet metal is broken by a leaf shaped depression on the doors. New alloy wheels, plastic lower body cladding and a chrome strip that spans the wheelbase are the other design highlights.
The rear of the car is characterized by a wraparound windshield and LED taillights while the majority of the bumper is made up of black plastic cladding and a silver skid plate. The exhaust is concealed.
Kia is yet to reveal the interior (only shown as a sketch) and engine specifications. The new Sorento is either based on the Santa Fe or the new Kia Sedona.
It is expected to carry a 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol and a 3.3-litre V6 petrol engine. Also on cards are two diesel engines displacing 2.0-litre and 2.2-litre respectively.
