Skoda India will launch the refreshed Yeti on September 10, according to a report on Autocar India. The 2014 Yeti facelift was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September last year, and it had its Indian debut earlier this year at the Delhi Motor Show.
Available in two body styles in Europe called Outdoor and Style, India will get only the former which comes with silver skid guards, roof rails, black body cladding and under-ride protection for a more tougher look. Apart from the exterior design changes which extend to the bumpers, lights and grille, the interior of the crossover continues largely unchanged save for small bits like an updated steering wheel, door trims and fabrics.
Underneath, the Yeti will continue using the current 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine which is available in two states of tune of 110 PS (108.45 bhp) and 140 PS (138 bhp). The 110 PS variant makes 250 Nm of torque and gets a 5-speed manual gearbox driving the front whees. The 140 PS variant churns 320 Nm of torque and uses a 6-speed manual gearbox to send power to all four wheels.
Competition for the 5-seater Yeti mainly comes from the more expensive Renault Koleos, all though buyers could also compare it to the top-end variants of the Renault Duster and Mahindra XUV500.
Competitors: Renault Koleos
Expected Price: INR 15.5 - 19 lakhs, ex-Showroom
