Posted on: Jul 30, 2014 - 8:47am IST

Ahead of its launch in India this September, the 2015 Hyundai i20 is fully revealed in these new spy pictures. The new i20, as these spy image show, is a complete design rethink.

The 2015 Hyundai i20 will replace the current model when it goes on sale in India in September.

The front of the car borrows a few features from the Grand i10 (2014 i10) launched last year with a hexagonal airdam element, thin grille and flared headlamps. Over to the sides, the hatchback seems to retain dimensions of the outgoing i20, which measures 3,995 mm long. The top-end variants, we are told, will get chrome door handles, diamond-cut alloy wheels and wing mirrors with integrated turn signals. The C-Pillar of the car is blackened on some variants (seen here), we also gather.

The new model will simply be called the i20. No ‘Grand’ prefixes seen here.

At the rear the taillights get the ‘Fluidic’ treatment and extend up till the boot. The rear fascia of the new i20 also appears to be very sporty. Inside, the 2015 i20 gets a more modern looking dashboard, and equipment levels are expected to better the current generation model.

The new i20 is based on an all-new platform.

Power for the new i20 is likely to come from the same set of petrol and diesel engines. Fuel efficiencies could be enhanced slightly though. The new i20 promises to build on the success of its predecessor and offer an all-round package at a competitive price.

Competitors: Maruti Swift, VW Polo, Fiat Punto, Honda Jazz, Tata Bolt

Expected Price: INR 5-8 lakhs, ex-showroom

Just wondering, why backgrounds are so unnatural? and yeah, it could have been better if you had provide the diesel and petrol engine specs as well.

don’t like the headlamp design, why all india spec car headlamps are extended sideways towards A pillar(all maruti, tata, fiat, hyundai cars),why not lean horizontal headlamps positioned in the front alone like polo?

    1. Hello Sajid, you have a very keen eye. We were not able to continue carrying those images, and therefore we have this very accurate (yet speculative) rendering of the car.

Well the real i20 looks a lot like this though the rendering isn’t perfect. It looks quite a lot sober & mature in comparison to the current model. Guess people will accept this as in the case with Grand i10.
