Tata Motors will showcase the Bolt hatchback at the Indonesia International Motor Show which will take place in September this year. A company executive told Detik Oto that the hatchback will be shown at the annual event, and that the car would launch in Indonesia sometime in 2015. Tata would use IIMS as a build up to the launch of the car, the person said.
The Bolt, which is a heavily reengineered Tata Vista, was revealed in India earlier this year. The hatchback is expected to go on sale in September this year, right after the Zest's launch in August.
Powering the Bolt is Tata's newly-developed Revotron petrol engine. This 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol will output 85 PS at 5,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque between 1,750-3,000 rpm on the Bolt and Zest. The diesel variant of the Bolt will use the Fiat-developed 1.3-liter Multijet engine which makes 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque.
The Bolt was announced with 5-speed manual transmissions, though Tata could choose to use their 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) on the diesel variant of the Bolt (the 5-speed AMT is confirmed for the Zest diesel).
Apart from the Bolt, Tata would also showcase their Nexon compact SUV concept at IIMS.
