According to Tata, the Zest name “signifies enthusiasm for life, for the sense of excitement, anticipation, and energy it brings, approaching life as an adventure. It is all about being vivacious and energetic”.

Like the Bolt, the Zest was styled by three of Tata Motors design studios (in Pune, Coventry, UK and Turin, Italy).

Power for the Zest will come from a petrol and a diesel engine. The petrol engine is the newly developed 1.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder Revotron motor. It will produce 85 PS @ 5,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque between 1,750-3,000 rpm on the Zest. The diesel engine will be the 1.3-liter Quadrajet motor outputting 90 PS @ 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque between 1,750-3,000 rpm.
