Ford India has announced that the Ford Fiesta facelift will launch towards the end of the month. The facelift, unlike the earlier model, comes only with a diesel engine, and in three variants - Ambiente, Trend and Titanium.
The engine is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox and Ford said it had no plans for an automatic. The engine is the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder unit that develops 91 PS @ 3,750 RPM and 204 Nm @ 2,000 - 2,750 RPM. The fuel efficiency of the car has been improved to 25.01 kpl (up from 23.5 kmpl), and a reason is improved frontal aerodynamic efficiency.
Two new colors introduced to the lineup are Golden bronze and Smoke grey, and there are a total of 6 colors. The interior comes in a dual tone gray-black combination with a gloss black finish to the center console, as opposed to the all-black theme on the pre-facelift.
The Fiesta gains light-sensing headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and SYNC with AppLink. All variants come with 15-inch wheels, height-adjust steering, driver side airbag, ABS and EBD, four power windows, electrically adjustable mirrors, electric boot release, rear center armrest and foldable rear seat.
Distinguishing it externally are new grille, headlights, bumpers and taillights. A new alloy wheel design and communication colour add further differentiation.
The pre-facelift Fiesta was a sales failure and Ford would be eager to gain back the lost ground in the C-Segment with a more competitive pricing. Internationally, the Fiesta facelift launched at the Paris Motor Show of 2012.
