Audi India launched the 2014 Audi A8L facelift in an event held in Dubai over the weekend. The refreshed A8's Indian launch follows the international launch which took place in September last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The refreshed A8 is available only in its long wheelbase specification for the Indian market. Audi India have announced the sedan with three engine options, one petrol and two diesel.
The petrol motor is a 4.0-liter V8 Bi-Turbo TFSI producing 435 PS and 600 Nm of torque, while the base diesel is a 3.0-liter V6 capable of 258 PS and 580 Nm of torque. The A8L is also available with a 4.2-liter diesel engine capable of 385 PS and 850 Nm of torque. All engines come with an 8-speed automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels using Audi's Quattro system.
The 2014 A8, like the pre-facelift model, is imported into the country via the CBU (Completely Built-up Unit) route. It is available in 111 exterior colors, 23 leather colors, 27 customizable options, 12 wooden inlays, and personalized headrest logos, trims and folding tables. The sedan features Audi's Matrix LED headlights as an option.
Audi has priced the 3.0-liter TDI variant at INR 11,295,000 (ex-Showroom, New Delhi) and INR 11,143,000 (ex-Showroom, Maharashtra). One customer preview was already held at the 2014 Auto Expo, but there is no word yet on the bookings.
