Audi India is gearing up to launch the refreshed 2014 Audi A8L. The refreshed A8 had its world premiere in September last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show, following which the luxury sedan had a secret, backstage preview at the Auto Expo in February. Select dealers of Audi India had commenced bookings for the new A8 as early as last month.
Indian Autos Blog comes to know that Audi India will host a special customer preview for the new A8 in Dubai from May 3-4. At the event, customers will get to experience the car, interact with the company's CEO, and perhaps be handed the prices.
The refreshed A8 will continue to be offered in India only in its long wheelbase specification. Two engine options will be offered, one petrol and one diesel. The diesel A8 will source power from a 3.0-liter V6 TDI motor producing 258 PS and 580 Nm of torque. It is capable of accelerating the sedan from 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and onwards to a limited top-speed of 250 km/h.
The petrol A8 gets a 4.0-liter V8 TFSI Bi-Turbo engine capable of producing 435 PS and 600 Nm of torque. Both engines come paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. While LED headlights will be offered as standard, Audi's Matrix lighting system comes as an optional extra.
