Hyundai launched the Santa Fe at the Auto Expo on the 5th of February between 26.3 lakh to 29.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi price) putting it in the same basket as the Toyota Fortuner, Audi Q3 and the BMW X1. Like its peers, the SUV is assembled in India.

All variants of the new Santa Fe come with a four-cylinder, 2.2-liter diesel engine that produces 197 PS at 3,800 rpm and 42.9 kgm of torque in the manual variant and 44.5 kgm of torque on the automatic variant. The manual returns a fuel efficiency of 14.74 km/l, while the automatic does 13.01 km/l, in the ARAI mileage test.

Wow if they bring the long wheelbase to india would really be the first big SUV that can sit 7 ppl. Am sure it would justify paying a cpl of lakhs more for a vehicle tht offers more utility. Now wouldn’t that be a business case?

Wow. That’s amazing. No doubt fortuner has bigger engine but it has started looking biy old if you compare with new Santa fe. BTW 44.5kgm of torque puts rest of the competition to shame.
