Suzuki Motorcycles had unveiled the Suzuki V-Strom 1000 ABS at the 2014 Auto Expo with clear intentions to launch it in the market. However, we didn't expect the company to put it on the market within days.
Suzuki has priced this adventure tourer at 14.95 lakh rupees (ex-showroom New Delhi) the company confirmed to IndianAutosBlog.com today. Deliveries will begin towards the end of this month.
To "strengthen SMIL's presence in the super premium big bike segment", the V-Strom will launch featuring a V-twin engine and a lightweight aluminium chassis.
The V-Strom is powered by a fuel-injected 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 90-degree V-twin 1,037 cc engine that develops 99 PS, matched to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. The bike is equipped with inverted telescopic, coil spring, oil damped suspension at the front, and link type, coil spring, oil damped suspension at the rear. Twin discs provide stopping power at the front, while the rear makes do with a single disc.
The V-Strom measures 2,285 mm long, 865 mm wide, 1,410 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 1,555 mm. The fuel tank capacity stands at 20 liters.
Some of its other features include a radial mount front brake caliper, traction control, and specially designed side and top cases.
The V-Storm comes in two colours - Candy Daring Red and Glass Sparkle Black.
