Earlier this year in January, Hero Motocorp unveiled the HX 250R and the production version of the Leap scooter. Indian Autos Blog has received confirmation from the company that market launches of these products are scheduled for the second half of the next fiscal year.
The Hero HX 250R sportsbike is powered by a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled 249 cc engine whose power and torque outputs remain a secret. But what Hero will tell you is that the HX 250R can accelerate from 0-60 km/h in 2.7 seconds.
Rivaling the likes of the Honda CBR 250R and the Suzuki Inazuma GW250, the HX 250R sports a 300 mm disc brake at the front and a 200 mm disc brake at the rear. ABS will be provided as an optional feature on the motorcycle, says Hero.
The Hero Leap is India’s first electric-serial-hybrid scooter. Power comes from an all-new 124 cc engine which is assisted by a 10.7 hp electric motor. Using a belt drive to transmit its power, Hero claims the Leap can achieve a top-speed of 100 km/h.
Noteworthy features in the Leap include LED technology for the headlights and taillights, a 240 mm front disc brake, alloy wheels, near-silent acceleration in full electric mode and regenerative braking.
Readers were informed yesterday that before the end of the fiscal year, Hero will launch the Splendor Pro Classic and the Passion Pro TR.
