Chevrolet today unveiled the Adra concept SUV at the ongoing Auto Expo 2014. The Adra was developed entirely by Indian designers at the GM Technical Centre – India in Bangalore.

The Adra adopts traditional global Chevrolet design language while addressing local customer expectations to cater to the next-generation of Indian buyers, the company claims. It offers all the advantages of a traditional SUV – like high ground clearance, all-round visibility, high seating stance and generous interior space – in a compact package. The concept measures less than 4 meters in length.

GM India’s president and managing director, Lowell Paddock, said that the Adra is a major achievement for Indian designers who conceptualized and designed the model from the ground up and that it represents a new possibility for the fast-growing compact SUV segment.

Along with the Adra concept SUV, Chevrolet also launched the Beat facelift.

that contoured steering wheel with a flat base looks nice. Simple exterior language. Pricing will most likely be low also.

Why it is SUV? Other then good ground clearance I do not see anything SUV specific in this car. It’s good hatch that all I can say. Looks are good, funky and different.

This looks really cool.. hope they will bring it soon and price it competitively with ecosport.

And if they can offer more space than ecosport, then they have a winner here.

Nice looking 4m SUV. looks like they have put the 5th tire in the Boot instead of back of the Hatch. Still it is a concept and may be later with put on the Tail to give Macho SUV look

No non-sense design, simple and functional. Kudos to GM India. It looks somewhat mixture of VW Taigun and Suzuki XA Alpha in profile and the front fascia reminds me little like WagonR Stingray’s.
