The Tata Magic facelift has been spied testing in Pune by a reader. The passenger-carrier was launched way back in 2007 and we expect Tata Motors to unveil the refreshed model at the Auto Expo 2014.

The Tata Magic facelift gets a new grille as well.

The Magic facelift gets square headlamps, instead of the simple round ones at present. It also gets a new grille, and at the rear the scene remains similar with the Magic retaining its traffic signal like vertically stacked taillights (not represented in this story).

The Tata Magic is built on the same platform as the load-carrier Tata Ace. The platform has spawned 10 main variants. The Magic gets variant extensions such as the Magic HT, Magic CNG and the Magic Iris, while the Ace, on the other hand, gets the Ace HT, Ace EX, Ace CNG, Super Ace and the Ace Zip.

The interiors (Ace facelift shown here) would also be new with new steering wheel, new dashboard, along with a new optional music system and a mobile phone charging point.

The Magic Iris and the Ace Zip are mini-versions of their bigger siblings and were both launched in 2012. The platform also brought on the people-carrier, the Tata Venture, launched in January 2011.

The updated front fascia is shared with the Ace mini truck facelift which has already available on the market.

The Tata Ace/Magic platform has seen tremendous success, despite a slowing commercial vehicle industry. The platform saw its 1 millionth vehicle being sold at the end of October 2012 since sales started in May 2005. Interestingly, the last half a million came in just two years.

Traffic jam is not by any Tata Motors vehicle, but its by the biggies like Merc., Audis, BMW’s, Innova, Fortuner and MUV’s where one single person travels in these big vehicles. If a common man buys a Nano it creates traffic jam, but if a rich person buys the above then its lifestyle. Not only unfair but really senseless comments.

      Well said, Mr. Sandeep! 🙂

The road infrastructure in India is also long due for overhaul!

Has Tata ditched the archaic leaf-spring setup in favour of a coil-spring one? Also, is the engine blessed with an inter-cooled turbo? If yes, then this one might well be the volume-driver in the people-mover segment.

Ho these are the guys who mess up the roads making jam packed traffic with these ACE – share autos , the reason for Traffic is Tata with its two innovations Indica – call taxi and Ace share auto 😉 but really the head lamp cluster looks descent good job by Tata !!
