This would either have to be the near-production Ford Ka or a B-Segment sedan based on it.

The concept will showcase Ford’s vision for the future in the competitive compact-car segment in India and other emerging markets, says a release from the company.

The Ford Ka concept was shown in Brazil late last year, previewing the global replacement to the current Ka and Figo.

Ford envisages that the Asia-Pacific region would account for nearly a third of Ford’s global sales by 2015, more than doubling from the 15 percent from 2010.

Ford also expects the compact car segment to double, from around 1 million units in 2013, in just five years. Vinay Piparsania, executive director for marketing sales and service said that customers will get to experience first-hand the global products that are being created to meet and exceed their expectations.

  1. Aravind says:

Ford is doing good job these days. their focus sedan has become world largest selling car and they managed the recession in US lot better than other companies.

Their service has improved in India, Figo/Classic owners reporting lesser maintenance cost (than even Maruti Suzuki). But still they failed in terms of new Fiesta, still holding old platform like Figo which doesnt even have rear power windows. Also they have raised the ecosport price which was not popular among public. Had they increase price marginally, then it would have been great.

These cars looks very promising and hopefully they get the pricing right. To gain market share in India, they should have multiple models in hatch, small sedans.

  2. Vinay says:

Ford going to launch figo sedan global launch which is same as today’s classic

  3. Gaurav says:

If Ford makes a sub 4 metres on new kia & price it similar to desire they can have another winner in their hands.
