Hyundai India continues testing the next generation Santa Fe in and around its facility in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe has been testing in India since early this year, though the company has shown no signs of launching it, instead focussing on the launch of the Grand i10.

Now in its third generation, the 2013 Santa Fe was unveiled at the New York Auto Show in 2012. The SUV is a sales success in its debut market, with cumulative sales of all generations crossing the 1 million mark as of August this year. In Europe and USA, Hyundai also sells a long wheelbase, three-row, 7-seater version called the Grand Santa Fe.
Earlier this year, the Euro NCAP rated the new Santa Fe as the 'World’s Safest SUV' giving it a higher score than the 2013 Range Rover!
In Europe, the Santa Fe is available with three engine options - a 2.4-liter petrol, a 2.0-liter CRDi and a 2.2-liter CRDi. We think India would get only the diesel powered Santa Fes, though we're not quite sure if Hyundai would introduce both the diesels.

We expect Hyundai India to launch the new Santa Fe latest by February 2014 at the Auto Expo. Stay tuned to Indian Autos Blog for further updates.
